Life safety projects, routine maintenance, and utility upgrades to be approved upon execution
of Agreement*

Replace Existing Utility Systems
Replace existing chiller system (which creates cold air and water for the hospital's cooling system): existing medical vacuum and air (which provides compressed air and suction air for bedside medical equipment); existing fire alarm system; and existing cooling tower.

Cath Lab #1 Equipment Upgrade (SS960591-01)
Replace existing lighting in Cath Lab #2 with improved clinical lighting system. The project also includes upgrading electrical service and seismic bracing of equipment.

Replace Fuel Oil Tanks (pending)
Install emergency water tanks, and replace existing fuel tanks (per federal environmental regulations) with new tanks installed within a vault to protect against leaks or ruptures.

Burn Unit Soiled Utility Room (SS952088-01)
Install data closet and create utility room in existing Burn Unit for dirty laundry, trash, and used equipment.

Pharmacy Automated Dispensing (pending)
Install an automated drug dispensing system in the existing pharmacy, which includes modification of cabinetry and a door for courier service, upgrading electrical, and seismic bracing of equipment.

Labor and Delivery Ceiling Upgrade (SS970303-01)
Complete replacement of existing corridor ceilings in labor and delivery with non-asbestos ceiling tiles, new bracing ceiling grid, upgraded lighting, and upgraded air registers.

Filter installation 4NE (SS970321-01)
Installation of special air filters to upgrade air quality in bone marrow transplant patient area of oncology unit permitting higher air changes per hour. Four rooms will have special, high quality filtered air for safety of immune-suppressed patients.

Surgery Supply Shelving
Replace shelving in the sterile core to improve organization of surgery supplies.

Electroencephalograph (EEG) Relocation to Sixth Floor (pending)
Relocate existing EEG testing rooms to nursing unit on 6 Northwest where demand for the service is greater. This places the microbiology portion of the lab in the vacated 400 square-foot area now occupied by EEG testing rooms.

Data Equipment Room Project (SS961162-01)
Create a centralized data information system equipment room by relocating existing storage to a protion of an existing unnecessary stairway on the second floor. completion of data closets for computer routing systems.

Lab Upgrade and Remodel (pending)
This project is in existing space and will correct fire code and other deficiencies cited by regulatory agencies. The project impacts the blood bannk, microbiology, processing and phlebotomy labs.

Upgrade air flow in 1968 Building (SS970359-01)
This project upgrades exhaust fan #8, duct work, and rebalances air flow in 1968 building.

Kitchen Cold Storage Project (pending)
This project converts existing kitchen dry storage to cold storage.

Vascular Lab and Physical Therapy Space Swap (SS970093-01 and SS961197-01)
This project exchanges existing space occupied by the vascular lab with existing space occupied by the physical therapy department.

Tuberculosis Isolation Rooms (pending)
This phased project replaces nursing stations in existing nursing units on 6 Center, 4 West, 6 North, and in the existing emergenncy department with ergonomically correct work stations able to utilize new technology. Old, built-in cabinetry will be replaced with modern, modular stations.

Remodel Nursing Unit "Cores" (pending)
On a phased schedule, remodel the center areas of all existing nursing units (i.e., "cores") to create computerized nursing substations, to correct ergonomic problems, and to improve efficiency.

Instrument Room Remodel (pending)
Reorganize instrument storage in existing surgery storage rooms. Three existing rooms will be combined into one larger room and a new storage shelving system will be installed.

Eye Laser Room Relocation (pending)
Exchange existing eye laser room with an existing office located closer to the patient preparation area. This will permit patient patients who receive eye drops that distort their vision to walk less destance to the surgery area.

Radiology Equipment Replacesment (pending)
Replace 15-year-old equipment in existing radiology room #1752 with new, more efficient equipment that will emit less radiation.

Pharmacy Satellite Relocation (pending)
Exchange existing space used as sixth floor nursing office with existing sixth floor pharmacy satelite. This will correct ergonomic problems in the pharmacy satellite and place the nursing office closer to the nursing unit.
