Basketweave Stitch Pattern
Basketweave Swatch
Whether you knit this pattern single or double thickness,
it is a pleasing geometric. Try it with a varigated yarn
with short lengths of individual colors.
The image on this page is of the beginning of the swatch described
on the How To page.
Basketweave Stitch Pattern for Single Knitting
In multiples of 10 stitches:
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl 5, Knit 5
Rows 3-8: Repeat Rows 1-2, 3 more times
Row 9: Knit
Row 10: Knit 5, Purl 5

Notes
- Try experimenting with your own variations. My version has a mix of garter
and stockingette stitches. You could use stockingette and reverse stockingette
stitches, moss stitch variations or whatever strikes your fancy. You might
even decided to go with a 'happy accident.'
- My 'blocks' have a ratio of 5 stitches to 8 rows. Change yours to the ratio
best suited to your yarn, stitch pattern and finished item.
