Cast 7 stitches onto the EMPTY needle using a different color.
Row 1: Knit 7 stitches.
Row 2: Purl 6 stitches, purl the 7th stitch together with the adjacent stitch from the prior block. (See 1st image.)
Row 3: Knit 7 stitches.
Rows 4-13: Repeat Rows 2 & 3.

When you knit (or purl) 2 stitches together, they
are always from 2 different blocks. This is how the
blocks are connected!
